Introducing A New Member Organization

About the organization
Change is rarely easy, and everyone has different challenges unique to their situation. Our current society has high demands on individuals and success can be a tough journey. "Vibrant Mind and Body" provides support to men and women who suffer from depression, stress, anxiety, trauma, stress, and other illnesses/challenges caused by physical, emotional, and psychological factors. Through various holistic techniques, the organization has helped many individuals move through the most challenging times in life, fulfilling their motto "life by design, not by default". "Vibrant Mind and Body" was founded in 2016 in New York by experts in the field of health and wellness.
The mind behind the innovation
Rima is an entrepreneur with a diverse personal and professional background. She was born in Canada from Lebanese parents. Rima moved to New York in 2016, after meeting her husband Chad Neighbors, with whom she shares the same passion for helping people transform their lives. Immediately after moving to New York, they merged their corporations into what is today known as Vibrant Mind and Body.
Although the company is young, Rima had already worked in Canada before moving to NYC, accumulating over 20 years of experience in the field. She has served as a counselor for different community agencies that support people who struggle with addiction or mental health issues. Through one of her projects called Step Forward, Rima has provided addiction counseling to people across Canada and US. She has also worked as a Consultant and Coach in various capacities that combine cognitive behavior therapy with fitness, nutritional and mindfulness-based practices.
Academic background
Rima Graduated from the University of Toronto with a Graduate Certificate in Executive Management and Leadership. She holds certifications in massage, fitness, and addictions programs. She is currently pursuing her PhD in Transformative Psychology and would love to support any individual or organization in need of help!
We recently had a nice conversation with her, and these are her thoughts about the many topics we touched upon.
What is the most important thing you have learned from you career life?
“I think that finding your purpose in life and following through (with it) is the most important thing I have learned. Finding one’s purpose comes from within you. When you fulfill your purpose everything else falls into place. Use the gifts that you’ve been given – honor them. When it comes to helping other people with whatever challenges they are struggling with, the best part of my job is seeing them overcome those challenges. “
How did you encounter Kota?
“I got to know Jaana (Kota’s President) simply by being in the Women's Lab! Seeing her day-to-day and chatting with her because I was seeing her consistently. During these meetings in the Women's Lab, I learned that what Kota does is in line with my own values. I knew that at some point, I wanted to become more involved and support the organization further. I think becoming a member organization was just a step in that direction. Jaana embodies the values of Kota, and I value the work she and the entire team do!”
Having Rima and her organization "Vibrant Mind and Body" on board makes us very happy as we look forward to the many collaborations and positive outcomes that will be born from this union.
Thank you Rima for trusting The Kota Alliance!
