This event highlighted and discussed increasing economic empowerment of women. It is important to ensure the realization of women rights in all fields, as they will be able to advocate for themselves and other women and girls, while ensuring the well-being of their families and a future for their children. We want to increase participants’ knowledge of different methods of empowering women in their local communities ; sharing best practices for economic advancement. We have representatives of several partner organizations attending, and will discuss specific sectors in breakout rooms. 

The event was part of the NGOCSW FORUM that occurs each year during the Commission of the Status of Women meetings at the United Nations. This year there were about 650 events during March 15-26.
